The Executive Assistant will provide high-level administrative support to the President of Barber-Scotia College and senior staff. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides high-level administrative support and assistance to the President and/or other assigned leadership staff.
  • Performs clerical and administrative tasks, including drafting letters, memos, invoices, reports, and other documents for senior staff.
  • Arranges travel and accommodations for the President.
  • Schedules and attends meetings on behalf of executives, taking notes and recording minutes.
  • Receives incoming communication or memos on behalf of senior staff, reviews their contents, determines their importance, and summarizes and/or distributes their contents to appropriate staff.
  • Performs office tasks, including maintaining records, ordering supplies, and performing basic bookkeeping.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by executives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Job Description

The Director of Development will plan and implement a development and fundraising program to provide for the short- and long-term needs of the organization. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Works with the College President to determine the mission, purpose, and priorities of the organization.
  • Sets annual monetary goals and budgets according to short- and long-term goals. 
  • Establishes fundraising objectives for the College, setting one-year, five-year, and longer-term goals.
  • Maintains a list of potential financial donors including corporations, foundations, and individuals. 
  • Produces relevant and informative fundraising literature for distribution to previous donors and the public. 
  • Researches potential sources of, and applies for, grants and public funding.
  • Oversees the fundraising process and maintains records of receipts and disbursements of funds.
  • Plans fundraising events that effectively communicate the purposes of the organization.

The Director of Alumni Relations is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage and cultivate relationships with alumni of an organization or institution. This role plays a critical part in fostering a sense of community and loyalty among alumni, while also leveraging their support and involvement to benefit the organization. The Director of Alumni Relations reports to the Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness.  

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive alumni relations program that effectively engages and cultivates relationships with alumni.

  • Plan and coordinate a variety of events and activities, such as alumni reunions, networking events, career fairs, and social gatherings, to foster connections among alumni and between alumni and the organization.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as fundraising and marketing, to integrate alumni engagement initiatives into broader institutional goals and campaigns.

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date alumni database, ensuring that contact information, employment details, and other relevant data are properly recorded.

  • Create and distribute regular communications, such as newsletters and email updates, to keep alumni informed about news, events, and opportunities related to the organization.

  • Develop and implement strategies to solicit alumni support, including volunteering, mentoring, and financial contributions.

  • Coordinate and support regional alumni chapters or affinity groups, providing leadership and guidance to ensure their activities align with the organization’s mission and goals.

  • Collaborate with academic departments and other campus units to facilitate alumni involvement in student mentorship programs, guest speaking opportunities, and career development initiatives.

  • Track and evaluate the success of alumni engagement efforts through metrics such as event attendance, participation rates, and alumni feedback.

  • Manage the alumni relations budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to support engagement activities and initiatives.

The Work Study Coordinator reports to the Director for Financial Aid however works closely with Human Resource for job placements.  The Work Study Coordinator’s primary duty will be to steward the College’s institutional Work Study program. This position will be responsible for ensuring students are eligible for Work Study based on their award, have submitted complete paperwork, and are employed in a safe and secure work environment. The Work Study Coordinator will work with student Work Study supervisors around campus and will support the work of the Office of Financial Aid (OFA).

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
