Dr. Tracey Hardiman Flemmings

Dr. Tracey Hardiman Flemmings is a dedicated leader, visionary, and advocate for education, equity, and professional development. A proud 1986 graduate of Barber-Scotia College and former Student-Athlete, Dr. Flemmings has remained deeply committed to her alma mater, previously serving as Interim President and now as Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees. In this role, she continues to shape the institution’s future, governing its mission, vision, and goals while identifying dynamic leadership through her work as Chair of the Nominating Committee.
Dr. Flemmings retired from a distinguished 30-year career at United Parcel Service (UPS), where she held numerous leadership roles at the corporate level. She specialized in global sales talent management, supply chain solutions, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and executive-level succession planning. As a key corporate leader, she championed professional collaborations between Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and UPS, expanding internship opportunities for minority students, including student-athletes. She also spearheaded high-profile international business initiatives, talent development programs, and corporate philanthropy efforts.
Beyond her corporate and higher education leadership, Dr. Flemmings is the President of the Cabarrus Minority Alliance, LLC, where she collaborates with community leaders to address systemic challenges and bridge gaps in economic and social equity. She has served on multiple boards, including the North Carolina Foreign Trade Promotion Council, NC World Trade Association, and Export Council for the U.S. Commercial Service.
A lifelong advocate for mentorship and service, Dr. Flemmings is an Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. member and an active volunteer with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and 100 Black Men of America. Her outstanding professional achievements have been recognized with multiple UPS Chairman’s Eagle Club Awards, National Urban League leadership roles, and United Way Leadership Contributor honors. She has also served as a guest lecturer and facilitator at Morehouse College and Kennesaw State University.
Dr. Flemmings holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Barber-Scotia College, a Master’s in Business Management from Tusculum University, and a Ph.D. in Business–Executive Management from Kennedy-Western University.
Her leadership philosophy centers on service, impact, and legacy, ensuring that the institutions and communities she serves continue to thrive.
