A dynamic leader, entrepreneur, and dedicated community advocate, Pam Tinnin Day has built a career defined by education, business ownership, and public service. With over two decades of experience in property management, education, and entrepreneurship, she brings invaluable expertise and vision to the Barber-Scotia College Board of Trustees.
Educational Background & Certifications
Pam holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Barber-Scotia College (1993, Cum Laude) and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from North Carolina Central University (2020). She is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Finance at Strayer University, demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning and professional excellence.

Career in Property Management & Education
Pam spent more than 20 years in property management, specializing in subsidized housing and low-income tax credit properties. Her expertise in market analysis, resident retention, and community development led her to Senior Property Manager of the Year recognition.
In 2020, she transitioned into education, teaching second grade for three years, where her impact was quickly recognized—earning Teacher of the Week and Beginning Teacher of the Year honors. She currently serves as a School Treasurer, continuing her dedication to fiscal responsibility and education administration.
Entrepreneurial Leadership
Pam’s entrepreneurial spirit has been evident throughout her career. Alongside her husband, Michael Day, she has co-owned a trucking company for 20 years. In 2020, they expanded their business ventures by launching a courier service, further diversifying their entrepreneurial portfolio.
Service to Barber-Scotia College & Community Engagement
A devoted Barber-Scotia College alumna, Pam served as Vice President of the National Alumni Association (2017-2019) before being elected President (2019-2024). Under her leadership, the Alumni Association strengthened its engagement, support, and advocacy for the institution.
Pam is also deeply involved in her community, currently serving as the First Vice President of the Northern Orange Branch of the NAACP and as an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Personal Life & Legacy
Pam and her husband reside in Mebane, NC, where they continue to serve their community and expand their entrepreneurial endeavors. A devoted wife, mother, and mentor, Pam’s greatest joy is her family and fostering opportunities for the next generation.
