Chief of Staff
LaToya C. Crawford, MSEdL, is a transformational leader with over 20 years of experience in education, nonprofit leadership, and government relations. As the Chief of Staff at Barber-Scotia College, LaToya provides strategic oversight and operational support to advance the College’s mission. She leads initiatives in internal operations, strategic partnerships, government relations, and accreditation efforts, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and fostering organizational growth.
A dedicated educator and advocate, LaToya spent two decades serving as a school and district leader in public education, progressing from educator to administrator of four public schools. Her work has consistently focused on creating equitable systems and opportunities for youth and communities through innovative programming and systemic reforms.
Before joining Barber-Scotia College, LaToya served as the inaugural Government Relations Manager for the City of Greensboro, where her office secured $23 million in funding for key community initiatives. She also held the position of Director of Equity and Engagement in Iredell County Schools, where she developed county-wide education curricula to promote racial equity.
LaToya holds two Master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and Education from the City University of New York and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Baruch College. She is also the founder and Managing Director of New Dream Consulting, specializing in equity-driven initiatives and leadership development.
LaToya remains deeply involved in community advocacy, serving on several boards in Guilford County and contributing to efforts that promote equity and social justice.
